Private Market Alternative Investments

Private Market Alternative Investments (Alts) are closed-end investments (not open to the public) where capital is raised through private networks. This private network includes High Net-Worth Individuals, Banks, and Financial Institutions. Because these investments can be riskier, there are certain considerations to investing in Private Market Alts such as:

  • Illiquidity Investments can be locked up for 10+ years
  • Fees & Taxes Fees are generally higher and often require tax extensions and additional state filings
  • Valuations Investments are difficult to value since they are not publically traded. Also, because of the complexity of data gathering valuations are often lagged.
